Malachi 3:3
He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the LORD
An offering in righteousness.
One of the verses i remembered the most, this verse talks about how careful God watches over us. Well you might be wondering what exactly this verse is talking about. Lets look at the first line until the third line only:
As a refiner or purifier, to make a silver or gold plate from ores takes real focus and concentration. If you tend to slack when doing the job as a refiner or purifier, the ore will literately melt away into nothing.
When a refiner (or purifier) starts to refine a ore into a silver or gold, they will hold the ore with their equipment then put it into the fire place. At there they will watch closely until it is ready then they'll take it out, then put at a different place before shaping it into objects. If they were to take it out a second late or early, the ore won't be purified or refined properly, making the quality off.
How did they know when to take the ore out?
I did know a little about this and made a little research, according to the refiners or purifiers in the olden time, they'll wait until they can see themselves in the ore. Meaning that, they'll keep a close look until they find reflection in the surface of the ore, showing that it has been purified from inside out.
It shows that God has really sat and watched us closely, sometimes we come to a point and thought that God has not watch us from the start till the end. We often get offensive and neglect little things. God watches over us, and protected us over dangers and circumstances that we may not see it with our own eyes.
"Then why is my life so miserable? Why is there so many problems?"
God did still watch over us, but it is our own will that made us go astray.
"But I did not do anything.."
At times it is the circumstances we're in, example of circumstance: our family is poor and my friends family is rich, so he gets all the stuff he wants and not me. At this point it is not really in our control, we maybe the influence but not the controller. This is the stage where God is sitting and watching us getting refined and purified, it is where we should not go off the track. It is like this: You stay on the track, you'll be purified off sins and refined into a wonderful amazing person. You get off, you'll fall into sins and make things worst for yourself. Even in this season of life, God says he will 'purge' them into beautiful things in the third line.
Purge from dictionary means: to rid of whatever is impure or undesirable; cleanse; purify. Or to rid, clear, or free (usually fol. by of or from): to purge a political party of disloyal members.
God can still refine and purify us even if we're unclean, like how a vacuum sucks away all the dirt from the carpet.
In the last two lines, it basically tells us that when we're refined and purified, we should always offer back to Him whatever we have. You may be thinking its about money again here. Let me tell you, No. After you're purified and refined in person, you're a beautiful and wonderful, maybe talented, gifted, knowledgeable, and etc. With all that you should always serve with your talents and gift, every person definitely has a talent and gift, can't find it? Come to church and cellgroup as always, you'll eventually find it :)
Remember to give thanks to Him each day, make prayer a lifestyle not habit.
How God has taken care of us..
