Directions to Regina's House

Directions:
From LDP, turn to Taman Megah( ss1,ss3..) from sunway it's right and from BU/Kepong it's left. Taman Bahagia LRT station will be on your left. Go 'straight' down pass the 1st traffic light..the road bears a bit to right.. don't turn left to the LRT station. Go straight and pass another 2nd traffic light. Gosh, I din realise that there's so many traffic lights. hehe After that there's a 1st cross junction, go straight. When you see another 2nd cross junction, turn left (b4 the mosque). Go straight and turn right at the T-junction. Look for road ss3/70 on the left. Turn in and my house is on the right, just after the bump.

Call me if you're lost or anything ya!
See you guys later!

Love, Reg...(modified by Cher)..hehe..

A-C-C-I-D-E-N-T !!!

I shared this during cell last week. When people talk bout road accidents, we all say: choy! But this one is unusual. Thats why I label it under Praise Reports. Read on...

I met with an accident this morning, or rather my grandpa. We (Grandpa, grandma, and I) were on our way to my great grand father's graveyard in Selak Selatan, Sg Besi. I wasn't driving because I was not familiar with the roads. My grandpa made a U-turn at one of the traffic lights, and did not judge that a motor was coming very fast from the left. He couldn't brake enough while making the turning and the motor came flying and hit the car. The lady flew off her bike and landed on the ground.

O..M...G........

At that moment, I was stunt! I couldn't believe my eyes that an accident just took place. We all stopped the car by the road side and quickly got down. She had some head injury and was bleeding badly. We quickly drove her to the nearest hospital - UHKM.

Grandpa was shocked and I knew he was very panic. I tried to calm him down emotionally and to be a possibility thinker. I prayed non stop, and played some worship songs in my mind.

Thank God the lady was conscious. No life was in danger.
Thank God that no serious injuries on her head. Just a few stiches.
Thank God the little sang kancil (car) just had some dent, lamps were fine.
Thank God for this scary yet trauma experience to remind me to be extra careful on the road.

When the lady's husband came by, he saw how terrible my grandpa was and his age, thus he accepted our apology. He was really kind to us. Since she's not that badly injured, he just asked to pay for the damage, and both parties sign an agreement. So grandpa would not need to be fined. It is unusual for someone to be so calm and he was the one that comforted my grandpa by saying everything is under control, and its okay.

At that point in time, I felt that there were angels protecting us. God was in control, and it was not that bad after all, although I was having some slight trauma of the incident. We arrived home around 1pm. I was reluctant to go for service, and was exhausted, both mentally and physically. However, I made it a point to attend the 3.30pm service.

Keith preached last week, and it was awesome! I prayed in the spirit a lot during service, and felt that God's presence was strong in this place. I'm glad I made the decision to go. I know that situations like this is "God-Used", to strengthen my faith in Him even more. I knew that it's this kind of situation where we will grow and mature. Thank God for everything.

Love, Regina

Missin the land of food =(

Hello my dear W22!!! a huge greeting from London, England!!! i'm back safe and sound already =) so i thought I'd just let you all know.

So let me start off by saying thanks to all of you for your prayers and being there for me. You all have helped pick me up so many times that I know that God has truly blessed me with such amazing people in my life. For that, I am greatful.

I'm so sorry I couldn't see you all, namely people like Puiks, amanda, shaun, I saw Gor but I didn get a chance to talk to him so i'm missin u buddy. But I did get to meet your new member Regina and well yeah, I wish I had more time to spend in KL to catch up with you all and get to know Reg better. Ms. Michika was a realy blessing as well because she was there for me, textin me everyday to make sure i'm ok and she also came to church with me so i won't be alone. Thanks so much Michie =) Anyway, I would say that it was a good trip all in all. So Cher, where was that surprise lah? I waited up all night for you you know.hehehhe.

So my flight was pretty decent. It was tiring because altogether I Would have been traveling for about 19 or 20 hours so as you can imagine I totally KO last nite.hehhe. I was welcomed back to London with opened arms and my friends took me out for dinner which was great.Unfortunately, we ate malaysian food hahha, so I guess it wasn't too bad.

Well for those who I couldn catch up with, just to let you know what I have been doing during the week in KL. First thing I did was went for Andrew's cremation ceremony which was in his house then we went to a chinese cremation center next to the MPPJ cremation place. So that was what I came back for and I'm really glad I made it back in time.Btw, this was tuesday.

Since my parents have been aways in Japan for the week, it was just me and my sis at home, so I was up everyday to sned her to school, whereby after I dropped her off I went to my dad's office to help him do some work since he was away. So most of the time in KL, I was with my sis, workin and catchin up with friends. That's all I did after Andrew's. I got a chance to learn more about my friends and their family and I believe they are in need of some prayer.I've been praying really hard for them and I think they need W22 to help as well. Here are the few things that are at the top of the list for my prayers:

1)Andrew's parents. Pray that they will be strong and that God will help them be at ease.

2)my friend Agnes, her family is qutie close to Andrew so they are really sad about the loss of Andrew and Agnes's aunt who has Lukimea (i'm not sure how to spell) anyway, the doctors say that her aunty may pass soon so please pray for her aunt and for Agnes's family as they have been goin through a tough season whereby they are losing alot of close firends and family.

3) My good friend King. He is Andrew's best friend. In the pass 9 months, he lost his grandmother (grandma raised him), he lost his girlfriend for 7.5/8 years and now he's lost Andrew so he is going through a hard time as well.

4) My friend Elaine, whom her uncle just passed away yesterday morning (monday 14th april)

5) My bro who is going through a really tough time with his skin disease also known as eczema (i think its spelled that way).

Yeah so i think those are the most important things that needs our prayers. Of course we must also ray for the growth of cg, exams, work, assignments etc... Hey if any of you out there needs someone to pray for you please let me know, I'm more than willing =)

So anyway, within this pass week, I've had the chance to eat all my fav food, and my dear michika so nice to help me get fat with the ondeh ondeh which btw we left in the car and i totally forgot and then i remembered but we didn get to pass some to Reg, so Reg if ur readin, Mich was a total dear and bought u some ondeh-ondeh but we left it in the car since we were going for service so we are really sorry and I owe u ondeh-ondeh k? =) I'm also really glad that I got to catch up with you all and my other friends. I got to know my sister more and we talked alot. So I know more about her and whats going on in her life. I'm thankful that I got to see my parents even though it was jus for a day. I really do miss them a whole lot and I miss you all a whole lot more =")

So a big thanks to our Father in heaven, to my friends and family on earth. I love you all =)

Jonson.

I randomly found these really old 2006 pictures.

The privileged planet

The privileged planet

Hey all,

Here I post this video which I had shared about during our last cell group. =) This video was shown by my lecturer during one of my bioscience class. It shows about how uniquely and wonderfully our earth was made with the highest precision, i.e everything was placed just at the right place, every element having just the right amount, neither too much nor too little etc. for life to be possible. It shows the fact that planet earth was placed just at the right place within the universe, having just one moon with the right distance and the right size perfectly, and its gravity stabilizes the earth’s rotation, and we also have the right temperature, the right composition of atmosphere, (and many more). The earth is the most conscientious piece of work!! Ever!

What really impressed me is the fact that to have every factors that make earth the best condition suitable for complex life, the probability is only 1 over a thousand trillion!!! Isn’t that amazing? That means everything on our earth was no doubt perfectly made and strangely suited for life to exist! Some people may think that our earth is just merely a planet made up from the banging of stones (the big bang theory) which just happen to exist in the universe and just happen to be able to sustain life and all....NO!! It is almost impossible to have a planet like earth to exist just like that by itself! (the probability is one over a thousand trillion!!)

The theory design and the probability to allow earth to exist is far beyond any intelligence in any physics or chemistry or astronomy! All these were perfectly made by God’s hand. You see, God’s intelligence is far above what we can understand. The earth is so amazingly complex and beautiful in its every detail from the mountains to the smallest one cell living thing like bacteria. The creation of earth cannot be achieved or made by even with the highest level of human intelligence, why? Because it was made by God! God made the heavens and the whole universe and every stars meticulously. "You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You." Nehemiah 9:6

That’s so wonderfully amazing! We should always give thanks to God for everything in life because every single thing are God's exquisite work.

Optical Illusion

This has GOT to be the Best illusion ever created.

If you study the above images from your seat in front of the computer, Mr. Angry is on the left, and Mrs.Calm is on the right.

Get up from your seat, and move back 12 feet, and PRESTO!! they switch places!!

I believe this illusion was created by Phillippe G.Schyns and Aude Oliva of the
Univ. of Glasgow.

This proves that we may not be seeing what's actually there, ALL THE TIME!!

10 Leadership Mistakes to Avoid

I found this in the news recently.. good stuff to read :P Apply it to your daily college group works.. student counsels, clubs, societies.. and maybe even life.. :)

By Adalat Khan

BEHIND the failure of civilizations, governments, organizations and even small teams and groups, one factor that is always cited is leadership. Much has been written about how to become a good leader, but there are only a few resources on how to avoid leadership mistakes. Here are the top 10 leadership mistakes derived from leadership research.

POWER HUNGRY

Excessive control vested in a leader makes others powerless, and the key decisions which are to be made by the lower layer get delayed or are never made. Moreover, a leader who is power hungry and wishes to retain all control in his hands will never be liked because people will feel disempowered and may even revolt against him. So, a leader must share power with able adjutants and empower others.

OVERINDULGENCE IN PLEASURE

Hieronymus Bosch painted the masterpiece The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things in 1485. The painting represented in a series of circular images. Four small circles representing “Death”, “Judgment”, “Hell” and “Glory”, surround a larger circle in which the seven deadly sins are depicted: (from bottom, clockwise) wrath, envy, greed, gluttony, sloth, extravagance (later, lust), and pride(God hates Pride the most).

Extravagance or overindulgence in personal pleasure and succumbing to lust is one of the deadly sins that can bring down a leader. Whether it is political or corporate leader, indulging in undue pleasure can be a one-way ticket to disgrace and downfall.

DECLINE IN A CHARACTER

Moral derailment and decline leading to poor character is a deadly mistake that can destroy a leader. Corruption, laziness and cronyism are some symbols of moral decline.

Korn-Ferry International, an executive search company, performed a survey on what organizations want from their leaders. The respondents said they wanted people who are ethical and convey a strong vision of the future (Our beloved Pastor Kevin).

In any organization, a leader’s action set the pace.

SURROUNDED BY FLATTERERS

A person who tells you the trust is your best friend, rather than the one who tells you lies and flatter you. Many leaders destroyed themselves and their organizations because the people surround them were telling them what the leaders wanted to hear rather than what should be told.

ARROGANCE

Perhaps the most fatal of all mistakes for a leader is arrogance. Blind overconfidence in one’s capabilities, dismissing good ideas from others, and too much pride in oneself are some hallmarks of an arrogant leader. But it is humility that will help a leader succeed in his given tasks.

Leader ship experts Kouzes and Posner maintain that even exemplary leaders gain the support of all the individuals involved in a task. They say “Titles are granted, but it’s your behavior that wins you respect.”

REFUSAL TO CHANGE

Change is a popular word, and there are books, seminars, articles and journals that teach people how to change. A good leader must change and remain in control of the changing environment. Not only must leader change, they must facilitate the change in their people, too. Sadly, some leaders opt for death than to change, and it so happens that not only they die alone but also kill their nations and organizations.

BLAMING OTHERS BUT ONESELF

Many mediocre leaders adept in the blame game. But good leaders shoulder the responsibility and accept their mistakes. In fact, even when the mistakes are their ‘followers’, good leader will take them on themselves.

Leaders who take the blame also earn the respect of their people. Former US president Henry Truman used to keep the sign “The Buck Stops Here” on his desk in the White House.

INDECISION

Sometimes, a leader has to make tough, unpopular and painful decisions. Indecision can cripple a leader as fear can overwhelm him into inaction and so miss many opportunities. Not only will this affect the success you have as a leader, but also will negatively affect almost every facet of your people and organization.

The main job of leaders is to make good decisions, and if they lack this trait they do not deserve to be leaders of their people.

TAKING UNDUE CREDIT

Good leaders always give credit to others when it is due because they believe that rewarding at least verbally the contribution of others will encourage them to do more for the cause.

But one of the most despicable mistakes committed by some leaders is that they take all the credit to themselves even when they do not deserve it. This alienates and discourages others who ultimately withhold credit due to the leaders.

Note that your role as a leader is not to do everything yourselves but rather facilitate others to achieve organizational goals and give them credit when they do that.

UNETHICAL BEHAVIOUR

The ethical behavior of a leader is behavior that aligns with legal, moral, societal, spiritual and human values. All actions that go against these values will be regarded as unethical.

In the corporate and political spheres, there is a renewed quest to dominate others even through unethical means. In the corporate world, to achieve greater competitiveness and market share business use all sorts of unethical strategies to defeat competitors. Such approaches not only prove disastrous for the leaders, but also their organizations.

Do you have one??

Hi guys, how are you doing??
This is my very first blog entry..

Well, just want to share with you guys a little about my 2nd annivesary.. WooWoo...
Yesterday, which is 9th April 2008, MS and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary of "pak toh-ship".
As I look back, its really God's blessing upon my life, and I really enjoy this healthy relationship.

Well, we went to Ampang (Korean village) to find the best Korean food.
This is what I heard from most of the people.. "eat korean food must go ampang!"
Therefore, we went.
I made phone calls and asked around for the -best Korean restaurant-, then my friend, Alex Loo (who stays in Ampang) told me there this very very nice one opposite the guard house. And we must go give it a try..

So I happily drove MS there, with super high expectancy..
Teng teng teng teng~ We entered the restaurant..
"Aniyo hasaiyo...." We were greeted by all these voices..

To my surprise, there was no other customer, besides all the waiters and waitresses..
Immediately I looked at my watch, it says 7:05pm, "why isnt' there anyone else??"
"Hmm... Maybe Korean eat late dinner... Maybe is very expensive, so not a lot of people can afford"
Many thoughts ran through my mind...
We places our order, and the food was fast, because all the waiters and waitresses served only us...

To cut the story short, the variety of side dishes are very little, the meat was hard.
Sigh.. we were totally not satisfied..
"AlexLoo, you better not stay in Ampang anymore lar..."

Both me and MS still think that the one in Taipan, above OldTown Kopitiam, that's the best so far. Go there if you wanna have nice Korean food!!!

SO, why is my title "Do you have one??"
Hehe.. because I received a Ray-Ban sun-wear from MS!!
Is the first sun-wear in my life.. I really like it.. Looks cool.. Thx bei...
Maybe, one day Cell group can go vacation at the beach, then we can all wear our sunglasses.. Hehe..
Its gonna be nice :)

Yeah, I gave her a scrapbook (which looks like magazine), and it cost me of few sleepless nights.. a Roxy jacket and a pair of shoes :)

Ok lah...I think that's all about it...
Will keep on learning how to blog..

Always,
-kw-
