omg!! massive apologies on my part for totally forgetting about this!
better late than never though.. so here goes
Serving All Men
1 Corinthians 9: 19- 2319 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;
20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law,[c] that I might win those who are under the law;
21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God,[d] but under law toward Christ[e]), that I might win those who are without law;
22 to the weak I became as[f] weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

These verses are Paul' making a good example of himself to the ppl of Corinth. They had fallen of their faith and were not keeping things right with their church.
As Christians, we have a duty to fulfill, to win ppl for the kingdom of heaven.
God called us, not to be of the world, but to win the world.
Paul did exceedingly well with his duty as a christian. So much so that people started feeling threatened by him and eventually locked him up for being so radical for Christ. He describes his method as becoming 'like' the person he wants to lead to Christ in verses 20-22. The 'like' here does not mean following the same acts as the people he wants to influence, but more so engaging in the same culture and environment of these people.
Paul had it right reaching out to people like that. We all know how difficult it is reaching out to people we have nothing in common with. If we learn to relate to the people around us, then it becomes easy to form relationships. when u have a good relationship with someone, it becomes way easier to share the gospel with that person.
Churches now i think are picking up on this matter. Society has moved on into a new environment where the current generation has a whole new lifestyle. the traditional church would have lost all relevance to the current society making it a less effective medium of influence. however, if the church were to meet the needs of the current generation, while still abiding to the truth of the Word, people will be drawn to church.
The bible also tells us that the gospel is inclusive and not exclusive and these verses sort of remind us about that. In v19 Paul actually refers to himself as a 'servant' to man. Paul didn't sit on a throne and order people to march into the kingdom of God. He went about it by engaging with the communities he was trying to reach out to, personally. he humbled himself and did what he had to do to reach out to ppl.
Thats why it is so important for us to just humble ourselves and help out in whatever way possible the best way we can. God has different plan for all of us. not all of us are born preachers or missionaries. it may be serving in ministries- ushering, worship, etc..
so we all know that emerge is comin. lets do what we can and call as many ppl as possible yah!!
we never know whose life we're gonna impact!
klah.. thats all.. sry so late!!
nex tag NG PUI KAR!!!!! yoyoyo
